How are wrap prices calculated?
why don’t we use flat rates?
Because no two cars are the same, and we’d rather not charge a Civic owner for the curves on a Corvette. A flat rate means one of two things: simple cars pay too much, or complex cars get rushed. We price every job on what it actually takes.
Here’s everything that goes into the math, so your quote never feels like a mystery. Just want the numbers? Jump to our price ranges.
1. Vehicle size
More surface means more film and more hours. Size is the starting point for every quote.

$
Compact and coupe
Mini Cooper, Honda Civic, BMW 2 Series

$$
Sedan
Tesla Model 3, Toyota Camry, Audi A4

$$$
SUV and truck
Tesla Model Y, Toyota 4Runner, Ford F-150

$$$$
Full-size and oversized
Cadillac Escalade, Mercedes G-Class, Sprinter vans
2. Body complexity
Two cars can be the same size and take very different amounts of time. Flat, smooth panels go quickly. Deep curves, vents, sharp body lines, and aggressive bumpers need more relief cuts, inlays, and careful heating to keep the film from lifting later. That’s skilled labor, and it’s where a cheap wrap usually fails first.
$
Simple shapes
Smooth panels, gentle curves, simple bumpers. Think boxy vans and clean, rounded sedans.
$$$
Complex shapes
Deep recesses, vents, spoilers, aero, and sharp creases. Think sports cars, supercars, and anything with a body kit.
3. Paint condition and past repairs
Film sticks to whatever is underneath it, and it shows whatever is underneath it too. Before we install, we look at:
- Previous paint. Aftermarket paint often doesn’t bond as strongly as factory paint. Film can lift it during install or removal, so repainted panels may need extra prep or a different approach.
- Chips, dents, and scratches. Film doesn’t hide damage. Every chip and dent will show through, so some cars need repairs or paint correction first.
- Prep work. Every car is washed, decontaminated, and wiped down before film goes on. Heavily contaminated paint takes longer.
4. Level of precision
This is the biggest choice you make, and the one most people don’t know to ask about. It comes down to how far the film goes past what you see from the outside.
$
No tucked edges
Film is trimmed at the visible edge of each panel. Looks great from a few feet away, and a small line of the original color may show at panel gaps up close.
$$
Tucked edges
Film wraps around the edges of each panel so the seams are hidden. Cleaner up close, and the edges are better protected from lifting.
$$$
Door jambs
We wrap the door jambs too, so the original color doesn’t show even with the doors open. The closest thing to a full respray, but comes at an additional cost.
5. Light car, dark wrap
Taking a white or silver car to black (or any dark color) is one of the most popular changes we do. It’s also the one where the original color is most likely to peek through at panel gaps, edges, and openings.
Here’s the honest truth: you will notice it long before anyone else does. Nobody admires your car from six inches away the way you do. But if it’s going to bother you, tucked edges or door jambs are the fix, and we’ll talk through which is worth it for your car.
6. Clear PPF vs. color PPF
Same film technology, very different install.
- Clear PPF is nearly invisible, so the film can stop a little short of panel edges without anyone noticing. That means fewer tucked edges and less labor.
- Color PPF changes the color of your car, so every edge matters. It needs tucked edges and fuller coverage, the same way a vinyl wrap does, and the film itself costs more. Expect it to cost more than clear PPF on the same car.
